Sleep well

Don’t change your habits

If you sleep on your stomach, then don’t change your habits during the first five to six months. Contrary to common belief, your uterus won’t get squashed. After the sixth month, you can continue to sleep on your stomach if you can still manage it!

Rest, rest, rest!

When your baby arrives, you will barely have time to catch your breath. So take advantage of your pregnancy and rest. It is best to establish a regular sleep pattern. You will sleep much better and more deeply.

Tips for sleeping well

If your mind is buzzing and you find it difficult to fall asleep, here are a few tips to encourage natural sleep.

  • Sleep in a calm and tidy room. Don’t leave mess or papers lying around that simply remind you that you have to tidy up.
  • Make sure you don’t have any drinks containing caffeine three hours before going to bed.
  • Taking regular physical exercise allows you to release tension. However, avoid doing sport before going to bed.
  • Make sure that the bedroom is reserved exclusively for sleeping. Go and sit on the settee in the living room instead.
  • Establish a set ritual before going to bed (drink a glass of milk, take a shower or tidy up). By always doing the same things, your body will be ‘programmed’ and get ready to go to sleep.
