An ear infection? No ear thermometer unless there is one healthy ear. Otherwise, use another method of measurement. Remember too that readings can be distorted by excess wax.

  • What is the guarantee period?
    Thermometers are guaranteed for 2 years.
     
  • No display when you switch on the device?
    The batteries have run down and should be replaced.
     
  • The H symbol is displayed?
    • The temperature measured is in excess of 43.3°C.
    • Keep the device at room temperature, then re-take the measurement.
       
  • The L symbol is displayed?
    • The temperature measured is below 32.2°C.
    • Keep the device at room temperature, then re-take the measurement.
       
  • The “empty battery” symbol is displayed?
    Replace the battery.
     
  • The “Err” symbol is displayed?
    The temperature in the room in which you are taking the measurement does not comply with the specified conditions for use.
     
  • The “L°C” symbol is displayed?
    The device is ready to use.
     
  • The word “MEMORY” is displayed?
    The thermometer displays the last measurement stored.
     
  • Is there a difference in temperature between the right and left ear?
    A slight difference is possible even in people in good health. This difference may be a result of the probe being incorrectly position in the ear canal.
     
  • Should the Predictor ear thermometer be used with a cover?
    The Predictor ear thermometer is used without a cover.
